Education Level:  4 Year Degree, Masters Preferred

 

Description

Responsible for collecting and analyzing frequent progress monitoring data in order to determine instructional decisions. Facilitating progress-monitoring reviews with building teams or professional learning communities to respond to student data. Serving as an integral part of a problem-solving team at the building level.

SUMMARY:  The RTI Teacher will support teachers in the continuous improvement process in all core academic areas (Math/Science/ELARW and Social Studies). The RTI Teacher will provide job embedded professional development and procedural support (guiding teachers and staff though the RTI process, while helping them select/implement the most appropriate academic intervention strategies) to the teachers and staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred

Minimum five years of teaching experience and three years of successful RTI Coaching

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Provide support during the implementation of interventions (i.e., modeling or coaching staff though the implementation process)
  • Provide current and innovative researched-based instructional practices
  • Facilitate the problem solving process (identifying the deficit, developing and implementing a plan for intervention, monitoring the progress, evaluating the effectiveness of the intervention, and making data-driven decisions for change and or advancement)
  • Provide support and modeling of quality record keeping practices.
  • Conduct observations and provide feedback to staff regarding their adherences to the intervention plan, the amount of exposure the students have had to quality intervention, the student responsiveness to the intervention, and the quality of the delivery of the intervention.
  • Communicate with parents, staff and students (establishing an environment aligned with the campus and district goals that conveys high expectations
  • Design quality professional development
  • Provide teacher training and the delivery of effective professional development
  • Evaluate and analyze testing data
  • Serve on leadership team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions

 

In an eight-hour workday, the employee must sit, stand or walk for varying lengths in order to deliver instruction and properly supervise students throughout the school building as required.  Employee’s job requires occasional reaching above the shoulder to write on a chalkboard. Job requires occasional bending/stooping or squatting/crouching to interact with students at their desks, on the floor or at eye level.  Job requires occasional carrying/lifting up to ten pounds to transport instructional materials to the classroom from other parts of the building.

Contract Length:     193

Work Schedule:       7.5-hour workday

Salary Schedule:     as negotiated
